The Indian embassy in Kyiv has released its second advisory warning Indian students against travelling to Ukraine due to “deteriorating security situations and escalation of hostilities”. Students who were planning to travel back to Ukraine have changed their plans.
Those still in Ukraine have been advised to leave the country as soon as possible amidst Russian warnings to continue its military action on the nation. Students who decided to return to Ukraine to continue their studies have decided to stay back in India. Some postponed their journey to a later date, the decision which they will take after considering the situation in the war-torn country.

Students are in dilemma as offline classes and practical training are necessary for medical studies and attaining a medical degree.
National Medical Commission (NMC), the Indian regulatory body for overseas medical education and professionals declared that students studying foreign medical universities in Ukraine and China must have a minimum of 54 months of an undergraduate degree to be considered valid. While they will consider the online theory classes as valid, online practical classes will be invalid.
In the previous advisory by the Indian embassy, it requested them to follow the guidelines provided by Ukraine. They also advised to strictly avoid non-essential travel to and within Ukraine and follow rules and regulations of local authorities.
Students are now seeking transfer to other countries as returning to Ukraine under such circumstances is not feasible.

Ukrainian universities are asking students who have paid fees late or after the deadline to return to India and renew their visas to join classes again.
