The Japanese Ministry of Education has invited Indian students to apply for scholarships under the MEXT Scholarship Program 2022. Open to studying applying for undergraduate, graduate or research courses at universities in Japan, interested students can apply for the scholarship until May 28.
The scholarship will be offered to students who are enrolling themselves in any of the 20 subjects including chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, mathematical science, geo-informatics, geology and more.
These scholarships were introduced to welcome outstanding human resources from foreign countries including India, in order to promote mutual understanding and form human networks.
The applications for 2022 are available for the categories of undergraduate, research, Specialized Training College and College of Technology.
The official notification said that the application procedure could be changed or stopped at a larger stage due to the current Covid situation. In addition, the embassy may entirely cancel the selection of a candidate, if required.

Eligibility Criteria for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships 2022
Here are the eligibility criteria that an Indian student needs to fulfill to be able to apply for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships 2022:

Must be an Indian citizen.

To apply for masters programs, the applicant must have qualified at least an undergraduate or Bachelors degree (16-year education) or equivalent in the relevant field.

To apply for PhD programs, the applicant must have qualified a Bachelors and Masters degree or equivalent in the relevant field.

Must have a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate in their latest degree.
