Every year, applications are invited from international students to apply for Kazakhstan government scholar. Offered by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this scholarship is open to both international and domestic students. Details of the scholarship are as follows:

• 100% tuition fee

• A monthly allowance depending on their academic progress

• Will NOT cover travel costs, medical insurance expenses, visa or accommodation expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

Those interested in applying for the Kazakhstan Government Scholarship should meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Undergraduate applicants should hold a certificate or diploma of basic secondary education with a minimum grade of “good”.

• Postgraduate applicants should have completed a diploma of Bachelor’s or specialist with a minimum GPA of 2.33 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.

• Doctoral degree applicants must have a master’s degree with an average score of at least 2.33 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent, along with an international certificate of proficiency in a foreign language.

• Must have scored at least 460 on TOEFL ITP, 46 on TOEFL iBT, 5.5 on IELTS or 85 on Duolingo English Test.

Non-Governmental Scholarships For Indian Students in Kazakhstan

Some non-governmental or external organisations also offer scholarships for Indian students looking forward to studying in Kazakhstan. One of these is NTR Videshi Vidyadharana Overseas Scholarship, details of which are mentioned below.

NTR Videshi Vidyadharana Overseas Scholarship

This scholarship is open to Masters, PhD, diploma applicants in the fields of eligible courses. Sponsored by the Social Welfare Department, it is available only for Indian applicants who belong to the Backward Classes. 33% of the awards are earmarked for women applicants.

Value of the Scholarship:

• 100% tuition fees

• INR 10 Lakhs (in total to cover tuition and living expenses)

 Eligibility Criteria:

Those interested in applying for the NTR Videshi Vidyadharana Overseas Scholarship should meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be of Indian nationality.

• Income of guardians or parents of the applicant should not exceed INR 6 Lakhs.

• Only one child of the family should be considered for the scholarship.

• Must have a valid TOEFL/IELTS score.

• Must have applied for a medical course in Kazakhstan.

University-Specific Scholarships For International students in Kazakhstan

Not many universities in Kazakhstan offer scholarships to international students primarily because of their already affordable tuition fees. However, this may vary from one university to another. Here is a university in Kazakhstan that offers scholarships based on the economic status of the applicant. 

Kokshetau State University Scholarship

These scholarships are open only to those applicants who come from low-income households. They are based on the performances of the student every semester after they have enrolled in the university. 

• A 20% scholarship is offered to cover the university fee for the first semester if the student scores 70%.

• A 50% scholarship is offered to cover the university fee for all semesters if the student maintains an 85% throughout the course.
