Study in Hungary

Overview

Hungary is a relatively small country situated in Central Europe landlocked by Slovakia to the north, Serbia to the south Austria to the west, Romania to the east and southeast, Ukraine to the northeast and Croatia and Slovenia to the southwest. The capital city of Hungary ‘Budapest’ is also the largest city of the country. Lake Balaton of Hungary is the largest lake in Central Europe and is it is often referred to as the Hungarian Sea.

In the last few years, there has been a steady rise in the number of foreign students joining the institutes in Hungary. The quality of education, a variety of courses and scholarships offered to international students are some of the reasons why the numbers are growing each year. The Hungarian Government especially offers scholarships to a limited number of Indian students to pursue higher education from one of the universities in Hungary. 

Hungarian Universities are mostly public research institutions and that provides a platform for both educational and research-based activities to students. English and Geman are the common language of communication in the universities which attracts thousands of international students every year.

University of Szeged, University of Debrecen, Eotvos Lorand University, University of Pecs and Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Corvinus University of Budapest are some of the top universities of Hungry. It has eight universities which are listed in the top 1000 universities of the world.

The scholarships are offered at all levels, be it undergraduate (UG) level, postgraduate (PG) level, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) level or Master of Philosophy (M Phil) and it covers tuition fees, monthly allowance, medical insurance of the student. Some of the popular courses offered at Hungary include Business Management and Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Natural & Life Sciences, and Economics.
