Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

More than 28,000 students, including around 1600 foreign nationals, are enrolled in over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the eighteen schools and colleges that are part of the Louisiana State University. The total campus area is over 2,000 acres with the main campus at Baton Rouge covering 650 acres of land along the Mississippi river. Other campuses are at Shreveport, Eunice, Alexandria and New Orleans. The Baton Rouge campus is home to over 250 buildings designed in the style of the famous Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. Besides the spectacular modern infrastructure, the campus also includes state-of-the-art research facilities, libraries covering an extensive range of subjects, museums, recreational facilities including theatres, athletic fields and the Tiger Stadium a football stadium named after LSUs official mascot Mike the Tiger a live Bengal tiger currently housed on campus.
