The SAT exam is administered by the College Board and is conducted across numerous SAT test centres in 30 Indian cities. Students can select College Board-approved SAT test centres in India along with the time slot as per their choice during SAT registration. The SAT test centres may make changes or close even on test day. Hence, candidates are advised to search for any closings before travelling for the test.
The SAT exam is administered worldwide by the College Board for mapping the potential of students entering various undergraduate courses in the US and other countries. In India, the exam is held across numerous SAT centres based in 30 cities. The exam is conducted in specific months every year, which includes March, May, August, September, October and December. While the test centre number and capacity are decent, candidates find it difficult to book their desired SAT slots because of the burgeoning number of SAT aspirants from India.
To ensure that the SAT application process is hassle-free, it is essential to go through every detail and follow the guidelines provided by the College Board. Students have the liberty to choose their test centres for SAT at convenient time slots and dates.
In emergency circumstances, students might find that the test centres are closed on the test day. Therefore, it is necessary to check out for any closings before the exam. Every three hours, the data regarding the test centre is updated.

Facing Difficulty in Finding a SAT Test Centre Near You?
Before reporting to the test centre, students must ensure that they carry only those students that are permissible inside the exam hall. They are allowed to carry only limited stuff with them. Candidates can carry the following list of items along with them to SAT test centres:
SAT admit card
ID card issued by the government that contains photographs.
Stationeries like [encil, eraser and pen
Calculator
Drinking water bottles
All these belongings must be carried in transparent pouches to ensure visibility for the test centre invigilator.
The rules and regulations for taking the SAT exam are similar across the country. Students must familiarise themselves with it for the smooth conduct of the examination process. They must follow certain guidelines at the test centres as mentioned below:
Candidates must ensure to reach the test centre 30 minutes in advance before the time mentioned in the hall ticket. One must remember to be on time as no one will be allowed to enter the hall after the time mentioned.
All the mandatory items such as hall tickets, stationeries and ID cards must be carried along.
Candidates are provided with a 10 minutes and 5 minutes break in between the sections of the test. They are not allowed to take any other break in between.
All items such as test papers, answer sheets and other belongings must be kept at the desk.

Does any SAT test centre in India require an additional fee?
No, none of the SAT test centres in India requires an additional fee. Whatever fees the candidate has given during the time of registration, that is all they have to pay. No candidate is required to pay an extra fee for any test centre for taking SAT exam.

Visit the official website of the College Board and go to the Test Center Closings section. Select the upcoming test dates, and country and check the availability of the test centre on that particular date.

Will I be granted entry to the test centre if I forget to bring my Photo ID or Hall Ticket?
No, you will not be allowed to sit for the exam if you forget to bring a hall ticket or photo ID. Candidates should always check the documents required for entering an SAT test centre. Students should remain prepared with all the required things a day or two before the exam.
Will I be allowed to take breaks during the SAT 2022 test?
Yes, students will be allowed to take breaks of 5-10 minutes, which have been previously scheduled. Students will not be allowed to take unscheduled breaks. So make sure you have scheduled your breaks well in advance.
Do I need to bring face masks to the test centre for SAT tests?
Yes, abiding by the 2021 guidelines, all candidates must wear face masks while appearing for the SAT 2022 test as well. Students must also follow other guidelines like social distancing. It is the safety of all the candidates as well as the staff at the test centres. So do not forget to wear a mask while going to take your SAT exam.
If I am 5 minutes late for the test, will I be able to enter the test centre?
As per the College Board guidelines for SAT Tests, no candidate will be allowed to enter the test centre after the test has begun. So, first of all, make sure that you choose a test centre that is near to your house. Secondly, try to get ready faster and reach the test centre on time.
When do I need to reach the SAT Test Centre?
Candidates must ensure that they reach the SAT test centre approximately 30 minutes before the test commences. So make sure you have chosen the nearest test centre so that you can reach it as early as possible. Also, try to keep an hour in your hand to avoid any kind of delays.
What do I need to carry at the SAT Test centre in India?
Those appearing for the SAT 2022 must carry certain mandatory items at the test centre, including the SAT Hall Ticket and a Government photo ID card. Other items may include a pencil, eraser, pen, calculator and water bottle. All these items must be carried in a see-through pouch.
What happens if my SAT Test Centre is closed and my exam gets cancelled by their end?
Though the probability of this happening is very low, in case, it happens that your SAT Test Centre is closed and your exam gets cancelled by their end then your SAT test fee will be refunded. Also, the College Board will reschedule your SAT exam at a different testing centre close by. However, if your test centre has been closed, the College Board will email you before the test. You can also get in touch with the SAT test centre directly to find out if they are open or closed.
