Vancouver Institute of Media Arts was founded in 1995 by Lee Mishkin with a vision to train students in specialised fields that meet the requirements of the media and art industries. Commonly called as VanArts is a private institution in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada offering a range of short-term courses in Media, Design and Arts. VanArts is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) - branch of the BC Ministry of Advanced Education, Education Quality Assurance (EQA) and EduCanada. The institute has consistently been ranked in the annual lists of Top Schools by the leading industry website Animation Career Review. In the latest edition of the Animation Career Review Ranking list, VanArts was recognised as the 2nd best in Canada. It should be noted that for the past four years, VanArts displayed significant improvement in its rankings as well.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The VanArts campus houses buildings made of modern infrastructure and offices located in downtown Vancouver. The campus occupies an area of 31,000 square feet with various state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure established at the VanArts BC campus including a public library, clubs, restaurants, shops, studio & theatres etc. A number of special events and functions are regularly conducted on campus for the recreation of students. VanArts offers a wide range of diploma programmes designed to help students learn skills in the field of art and design. Some of these courses include Visual Effects Production, Character Animation, Game Art & Design, Professional Photography, Acting for Film & Television, Web Development and Broadcasting, along with Diploma and Degree Pathway programmes. Vancouver Institute of Media Arts also offers a range of part-time and summer courses that are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of those aspiring to follow a career in media.

VanArts offers some of the best courses in visual arts, media and performing arts in Canada, where the curriculum is well-designed and structured. The classroom sessions are of small sizes and are delivered by some of the World Class Faculty. Since its inception, VanArts have been recognised as one of the top institutes for design and media, where graduates have been successful in their own fields. With 25 years of excellence, VanArts have been successful in creating a curriculum and educational environment that facilitates collaboration between different programs of study. Almost half of the students at VanArts are international students and because of the international recognition of the Institution, graduates of VanArts find it easier to create a network with global industries and organizations. Graduates of Vancouver Institute of Media Arts have worked on many popular projects such as The Tomorrow War, Dune, Shang-Chi, Ghostbusters Afterlife, Venom and many other projects. As per statistics, 90% of the VanArts graduates are working within the six months of their graduates. They can also choose to study at partner institutions like Canada, the US, UK, Australia or New Zealand. The institute also provides graduates with an opportunity to be a part of their VanArts team and constitute to the community through their work. The educational programs offered at VanArts are delivered to create collaboration between students and industries. The institute provides a platform for students to build a strong foundation and launch their career. Many alumni of VanArts are successful creative professionals, artists or hold relevant positions in industries around the world.
