University Canada West is a 21st-century university in Vancouver, Canada. It was established in 2005 by David F. Strong in the British Columbia province of Canada. A private university, University Canada West has experienced ownership shifts in 2008 (Eminata Group) and in 2014 (Global University Systems). Presently, it is under the managerial control of Global University Systems. University Canada West operates itself through its urban campus in the downtown area of the city Vancouver. Since the university is a private, for-profit institution, it is required to file audited financial statements, although it does not receive any funds from external or public sources. University Canada West is also among the Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) of Canada.
