Brock University was established in 1964, it is named after Major General Isaac Brock whose force won the war of 1812 against Americans. The Universitys motto is Surgite (Push on), as these were the last words of Major General who lost his life.
Brock University is Public Research University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. US News and World Report 2020 Edition ranks it at #1093 in Best Global Universities and #30 in Best Global Universities in Canada.
Among the other affiliations, the university is officially accredited by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, Ontario. The Goodman School of Business has international accreditation conferred by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The University is located in UNESCOs Biosphere Reserve at the centre of Canadas Niagara Peninsula on Niagara Escarpment. Brock Universitys St Catharines campus can house 2500 students in 7 residence halls Campus also has two large theatres. University has a campus in Hamilton and it is primarily used for Faculty of Education and specifically Teacher Education Department and Graduate Studies in Education. Hamilton Campus has its own Computer Lab Instructional Resource Centre, Gymnasium, Library and Large Classrooms.
Brock University offers courses in Science and Mathematics, Social sciences, Health Sciences, Education, and Business.

Brock University as been appreciated for its success in partnering with the industry. Its most successful associations have been for VineAlert and research with Norgen Biotek Corporation. The university also has research partnerships with universities all around the world especially, China, France, Germany, UK, Japan, and Australia.
Brock University Graduates has the highest employment rate of 97.2% among all Ontario Universities. Brock also has 12 Canada Research Chairs, and 9 faculty members received the 3M Teaching Fellowship Award.

In the fall of 2019, 17,066 students joined the university for fulltime programs and 2,615 enrolled for parttime courses. As many as 2,584 international students also joined for Brock for pursuing various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Of these 75% of the international students belong to Asia. The institution has a positive gender ratio with 56% of the total students are women.
Students get jobs in public sector companies like Niagara Health System, Ontario Ministry of Transportation, City of St Catharines, and also in Private Sector companies like General Motors, SITEL, Royal LePage, etc.
