Carleton University is a public Comprehensive University in Ottawa, Ontario. The University was founded in 1942 as Carleton College. In 1952, it got its Name of Carleton University through The Carleton University Act. The institution started by offering evening classes in the rented classroom of the High School of Commerce, which is now part of the Glebe Collegiate Institute. In 2019, International Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked it in 701-800 range and in 2020 QS World University Rankings it is ranked in 651-700 range and 19th in Canada. The University has affiliations from ASAIHL, APSIA, AUCC, CARL, IAU, COU, ACU, U Sports, OUA, RSEQ, Fields Institute, ONWiE, CBIE, AACSB, NIBS.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The Campus of Carleton University is located West of Old Ottawa South. The campus has a total of 150 acres of land and is bounded by the Rideau River and Canal. The campus has facilities for bus services and O-Train. As many as 20 buildings across the campus house the various departments and services like Herzberg Laboratories, Architecture Building, David J. Azrieli Pavilion, H. H. J. Nesbitt Biology. University offers Graduate and Undergraduate courses in Architectures, Engineering, Health Studies, International Business, Commerce, Journalism, Cognitive science, Arts, Computer Science, Economics, Music, Mathematics, Science, Social Work, etc.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Carleton University has produced 6 Rhodes Scholars, 29 Royal Society Fellows, 20 recipients of the Order of Canada, 3 National Killiam Awards Recipients. Carleton Ravens have won 7 Consecutive Canadian National Championship from 2006 to 2017 and 14 of the 16 championships since 2003, in basketball.
