The University of Regina was founded in 1911 as a private high school of the Methodist Church of Canada and became a part of the University of Saskatchewan in 1925. In 1961, it attained its university status and became an autonomous university in 1974. Today, the University of Regina is a publicly funded research university located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The University of Regina or UR is a university comprising ten faculties and one school providing courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma level as well as certificate programmes in various areas of studies at two campuses.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The main campus of the University of Regina is the College Avenue Campus located in southeast Regina on the shores of Wascana Lake between Cornwall Street and Scarth Street. The campus has 24X7 security support and various other facilities and amenities for students and staff. There is a separate campus where the classroom sessions offered by the Faculty of Social Work and the Faculty of Nursing are conducted i.e. Innovation Place in Saskatoon. The University of Regina offers a number of programmes at the Bachelor level for those aspiring to pursue full-time courses. However, among the courses available at the University of Regina, international students can choose from a directory of Bachelors, Diploma and Certificate courses in the fields of Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Health Studies, Media, Nursing, Science and Social Work, among others.

The University of Regina is committed to leaving a distinguishable impact on society through its research work. To achieve its desired goal, the universitys community is actively involved in innovative research work and continuously expands its infrastructure and facilities to support its students and faculty. The students, both current and former, are the backbone of the University of Regina, taking all efforts to support and stay connected. Levene Alumni Association has been established by the Faculty of Business Administration to create an alumni network dedicated specifically for Business Administration students and graduates of UR. The purpose is to create social, professional and business networks based on the interest of individuals. So far, more than 12,000 Business Administration Alumni members have joined the network and represent an integral part of the community.

The University of Regina has a student population of over 15,000 who are enrolled in different full-time and part-time courses. International students at the University of Regina are an integral part of the university with the UR faculty and staff members ensuring support and assistance to students at an academic level while also improving the career readiness of students. The URI team works closely to build international relations and promote quality higher education at an international level. The university focuses on offering practical learning programmes and also provides internships and placement opportunities to students. The partnership of the University of Regina with corporate, government and private companies helps UR graduates in increasing their employment opportunities post completion of their studies.
