History, Affiliations & Rankings

The University of Indianapolis was established as Indian Central College. It is presently a United Methodist Church affiliated university offering Associate Degrees, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Programmes. It was established in 1902 but got it’s name changed in 1986. By US News and World Report, it is ranked as one of the top tier universities in the midwest region of the United States. As per QS Ranking, it stands in top 900 universities in the world. Times HIgher Education ranks the university at 501-600th in US Rankings 2020.

Including regional and HLC accreditation, various programmes at UIndy are accredited by reputed organisations in their fields like Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association, American Psychological Association, Accreditation Council for Business Schools and programmes, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education programmes, Indiana Commission for Higher Education etc.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

UIndy offers 82 majors for undergraduate students leading to a bachelor’s degree. It also offers 2-year associate degree programmes at the undergraduate level. There are 27 degree programmes for postgraduate studies and five Ph.D. programmes. The university is spread across a 500 acre campus. The beautiful campus of University of Indianapolis is located on the southside. It has key facilities such as Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC), Tennis Center. The athletic team of UIndy is known as Greyhounds. The university is well-known for its undergraduate courses in communication, health sciences and teacher education.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The University has been ranked at 27th position in Reuters list of world’s most innovative universities in 2017. Some of the notable alumni who studied at the University of Indianapolis are Actor Adam Driver, Football League player Matt Kohn, Miss America 2009 Katie Stam Irk and basketball player David Logan.

University of Indianapolis has 36% male students and 64% female. It has students coming from 44 US States and 68 other countries including Europe and Asia. The international students comprise a total of 25% population of admitted students i.e. 8500+ students from 73 countries. The ratio of student and faculty at UIndy is 13:1 with almost 50% of its classes having fewer than 20 students. Going to UIndy opens so many doors to opportunities.
