The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is a public research university. It is the biggest university in the San Antonio region with more than 30000 students. It was founded in 1969 and was intended, like other establishments, to be a four-year degree-granting institution. It acquired the status of a Public university in 1973 after its first research center opened;  the Center for Studies in Business, Economics, and Human Resources.
 
UTSA completed its 50 years in 2019 and since then has achieved several milestones. UTSA is located in the seventh-largest state in the USA and in one of the cities which houses the maximum number of fortune 500 companies next to New York and California. UTSA is ranked 293-381 National Universities in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges by US News.
 
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Spread across 725 acres, UTSA has four campuses across the city- Main Campus, Downtown Campus, Hemisfair Campus, and Park West Campus. The Main Campus houses the Business, Education and Human Development, Engineering, Liberal and Fine Arts, Sciences, and Honors Colleges with 104 buildings. UTSA offers more than 157-degree programs through its 10 colleges meant to provide all the possible opportunities to learners. The university is ranked for the courses in material sciences, medicine, chemistry and computer sciences and information technology.
 
Accomplishments & Alumni 

UTSA’s vision is to become a research-centric university and it has played an important role in implementing undergraduate research. UTSA is one of only eight U.S. universities ranked in Times Higher Education’s list of top young institutions around the world. Around 16 researchers have received their patent in the last fiscal year, UTSA has been constantly working on discoveries and innovations. In the last five years, patents grew from 3 to 76 and new invention disclosures from 24 to 62.

Some of the prime research areas are Cloud, Cyber, Computing & Analytics, Advanced Materials, Integrated Biomedicine, Social & Educational Transformation, and Sustainable Communities & Critical Infrastructure. UTSA has enabled the world's most powerful microscope, which will help to push the development of new cancer therapies. Notable alumni include Travis Scott, Michelle Beadle, Devin Brown, and A J Castillo.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies 

The fact that its first student was a woman, shows a sense of diversity and multiculturalism as one of the foundations of UTSA. It's a diverse campus from all the perspectives, 64% of students are from underrepresented groups, 51% are female candidates. International students constitute 3% of the population.UTSA attracts some of the top employers to the campus some of them are Wells Fargo, Fort Sam Housten, HEB, U-S-A-A, Southwest Research Institute, UT Health Institute San Antonio.
