Founded in 1917, Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is a private University in Los Angles, California. Located on the west side of the city, University is one of the largest Roman Catholic Universities on the U.S. West Coast. Loyola Marymount University is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In the edition of US News & World Report 2020 of Best Colleges in Western Universities, Loyola Marymount University is ranked #64. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Loyola Marymount University’s setting is suburban, and the campus size is 142 acres. LMU is comprised of seven schools and colleges. Graduate programs include the College of Business Administration, Loyola Law School, and School of Education. The university offers 60 major and 55 minor undergraduate degrees and programs. It offers 39 master’s degree programs for graduate students. The most popular majors at Loyola Marymount University include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Visual and Performing Arts; Social Sciences; Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs; and Psychology.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The University won 4 out of the 7 RecycleMania Sub-Divisions. Loyola Marymount University was named #1 campus in North America for recycling paper, cardboard, plastic, bottles, and cans. LMU was one of the 353 colleges, out of 2000 that was selected by The Princeton Review for 2015 Green College Guide. The Loyola Marymount Lions field a number of Division I athletic teams and compete in the West Coast Conference. Notable alumni include Brian Helgeland, who wrote the screenplays for films Mystic River and L.A. Confidential, and famous lawyer Johnnie Cochran, who defended O.J. Simpson.
