Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a public university, founded by the Georgia Board of Regents in 1963 after World War II is a part of the University System of Georgia and is the third-largest university in the state. The University has achieved accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university has been ranked the top public university and 10th nationally among "National Universities Where Most Accepted Students Enroll" by U.S. News and World Report 2020. Also, American Council of Trustees and Alumni gave the university an “A” rating for high-quality core curriculum (9th consecutive year named, one of top 22 colleges nationally), Princeton Review ranked it 28th nationally in Top 50 Game Design Programs for Undergrads list.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The institution consists of 130 buildings spread over more than 587 acres of combined land of the two campuses. The campuses provide facilities for academics, operations, culture, recreation and living on campus. KSU provides its students with more than 150 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. The university has multiple academic programs in business, education, engineering, nursing, physical sciences, information technology, criminal justice, and sports management offered through 13 colleges.
Accomplishments & Alumni
The university has been ranked a top choice for students by the U.S. News and World. The university is the Carnegie-designated doctoral research institution (R2) that has found a place in an elite group of only 6 percent of U.S. colleges and universities with an R1 or R2 status. The University has ties with academic, governmental and business institutions all around the globe, including CIFAL, the first United Nations training center organized by a university. The university has 110,000 plus alumni worldwide. Some of the notable alumni include Larry Nelson, the Senior PGA Golf Pro; Willie Harris, the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball player awarded to be World Series Champion with Chicago White Sox, 2005, etc.
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
The University has a healthy gender ratio with 48.1% female and 51.9% male students. Kennesaw State has around 38,000 alumni representing 92 countries. Though small, the international students community participates in a number of activities at the university. Several companies visit the campus to hire the students for instance: Deloitte, Georgia Pacific Corporation, Georgia Technology Authority, National Security Agency, Raytheon, The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Inc., and Wipro.
