With over 150 years of experience in imparting education and knowledge, the University of West London has been a pioneering institution in career-oriented education and training. It was founded as the Lady Byron School, which later became Ealing College of Higher Education and after 18 years, in 1992, it was renamed the University of West London. Among its recognisable awards and accolades, in 2020, UWL jumped 31 places in The Times and The Sunday Times University Guide, landing the 52nd spot in the UK. Meanwhile, the University of West London was ranked 34th within the Guardian University Guide 2021, jumping 23 positions from its previous list. Additionally, the university was also recognised and ranked among the top for its Teaching Quality and Student experience by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
With the main campus located in Ealing, West London and another in Brentford, the University of West London boasts well-equipped and state-of-the-art infrastructure and a total of eight dedicated schools. UWL has also established a Berkshire Institute of Health, through which aspirants can pursue nursing and midwifery courses, in partnership with the NHS. Students and faculty also have access to a shuttle bus service by UWL, which connects Ealing with Broadway Station and the Brentford site. The University of West London offers numerous courses at different levels and disciplines. Those aspiring to pursue higher education at the university can choose to study any one of these disciplines at UWL, i.e. Film, Media, Design, Business, Computing and Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism, Law, Music, Nursing, Healthcare, Social Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, etc.

The University of West London has been home to thousands of students who have become recognised and reputable in their industries, some of whom are Oscar nominees and Grammy and Academy Award winners. These include Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly, Rebecca Harris, Robert Orton, while other notable alumni include Mike Fitzgerald, Claire Gorham, Mike Howlett, Pip Williams, to name a few. Among some of the accomplishments of the University of West London, the university has been recognised as one of the top 40 universities to choose from in the UK. Moreover, the university has been recognised for its investment in facilities and infrastructure, while on the other hand, it has also achieved the Silver Award in the Teaching Excellence Framework, consistently. Additionally, 13 courses offered by the University of West London have achieved a 100% overall satisfaction rating in the National Student Survey 2019.
Student Diversity & Employment Opportunities
The University of West London prides itself on the diversity of its student population, especially since a large number of international students opt to study at the university. As per 2018-19 statistics, 62.8% of the students at the university are categorised under the BAME category, while 32% of the faculty are from the BAME category as well. Both these numbers are nearly double the higher education sector average. This diverse group of students choose to study at the University of West London due to the success it has seen through its career-oriented courses. The career-oriented courses at UWL have resulted in 98% of the graduates either being employed within 6 months of their graduation or have chosen further studies, as per HESA 2018 reports. The HESA reports have suggested that the employability rate at the university has risen continuously over the past few years.
