Wintec is New Zealand's leading technology-based university and is based in Hamilton. Waikato Institute of Technology was founded in the year 1924 as Hamilton Technical College. Popularly known as Wintec, the institute won three national tertiary education for its international role in 2009. Wintec is one of the leading institutes in international education, be it onshore or offshore. It has been recognised as a modern organisation which serves not just the country but also brings about environmental and social benefits for its international customers and wider communities at the ground level.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Wintec has a total of five campuses, three in Hamilton, one is Thames and another at the Otorohanga Trade Training Centre. This esteemed university has 10-degree programmes, 35 diplomas and 12 postgraduate qualifications. For the excellence of students, the university has a good hold on almost 13 faculties like Centre for Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing & Hospitality, Centre for Business & Enterprise, Centre for Information Technology, Centre for Engineering & Industrial Design, Centre for Health & Social Practice, etc. The transcendent facility of Wintec Apartments and Student Hostels makes it easier for the students to reside and study in/around the campus deftly.
