Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is a government-owned university in New Zealand, with campuses in Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, and Gisborne. The university was founded in 1975 in the Hawke’s Bay region and is serving as the major educational centre in the area. EIT has long-established connections with multiple industries across New Zealand. It is in fact one of the top two institutes of polytechnics and technology in the country for research excellence. This further assures EIT secure funding through the performance-based research fund of the Government. The institute is highly rated for academic research and quality.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The university offers 130+ undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate courses are available for students. EIT has a total of three campuses- Hawke's Bay, Tairawhiti and Auckland. EIT Hawke's Bay is known as one of the country's most attractive campuses with shaded outdoor areas and remarkable architecture. EIT Tairawhiti is located right in the centre of Gisborne near the Taruheru and the location of EIT Auckland on the Queen Street makes it one of the most ideal destinations for further study in NZ. These campuses have topnotch facilities including high-tech trades workshops, a fully-equipped wine science, professional standard training kitchens and viticulture laboratory.
