History, Affiliations, and Rankings 

Founded in 1873, North Georgia College & State University, merged with Gainesville State College (founded in 1964) in 2013, to become the University of North Georgia (UNG. It was further affiliated as a part of the College Arrangement of Georgia. UNG is a public university and a state-funded college with multiple campuses in Georgia. Being the sixth-largest public university in the state of Georgia, UNG has been ranked #40 in Regional Universities South, #24 in Best Colleges for Veterans and #31 in Best Undergraduate Teaching, by the US News 2020 edition. 

Infrastructure, Campus, and Courses 

The University of North Georgia is spread across 794 acres of land. It is divided into 3 campuses, located in Dahlonega, Oakwood (Gainesville), Watkinsville (Oconee), Cumming and Blue Ridge. For undergraduates, the University of North Georgia offers over 129 associate and bachelor degrees, as well as pre-professional and certificate programs. For graduates, the university offers 13-degree programs and 1 doctoral program. The popular majors at the University of North Georgia include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Education, Health Professions and Related Programs, Psychology and Social Sciences.
