Michigan State University (MSU) is a public research college in East Lansing, Michigan. MSU was established in 1855. The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Michigan State University proudly boasts its ranking at #84 in the 2020 release of Best Colleges by the US News 2020. According to the QS Global University Ranking, MSU stands at #144 and is counted among the universities which have the highest research output. Times Higher Education ranks it 84th in the World University Rankings in 2020.
Infrastructure, Campus, and Courses
MSU is situated in a town called Ann Arbor. The university has two campuses - North Campus and South Campus. MSU has a suburban setting and the campus size is 5,192 acres. The campus of Michigan State University is located in East Lansing on the banks of the Red Cedar River and is one of the largest campuses in the United States. The most sought after courses at MSU are Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Law, Literature, Science, Art, Environmental Studies, Theatre, and Dance, as well as music.
Accomplishments & Alumni
Michigan State University was the first land-grant institution in the country and became a model for similar schools. MSU is also home to one of the nation's only environmental journalism organizations, a solar car racing team, and a student-run organic farm. The university has some very famous alumni, including Stanley Cohen, Robert Shiller, Grouse Beck, Tom Harmon, Claudia Alexander, and Edgar Ted Codd.
