John Brown University (JBU) is a private, Christian liberal arts college in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. It is a small university with a total enrollment of 1,489 undergraduate students. The acceptance rate of John Brown is 76% which makes it a bit competitive. JBU competes athletically in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Programs within the university have specialized accreditation from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). John Brown University is ranked #11 as Regional Universities South according to USNews and World Report.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The main campus of JBU in northwest Arkansas spans over 200-acre land. It was founded in 1919. JBU has 2,613 students as of 2017-2018. JBU has 641 graduate students with over 16 graduate degrees in business, education, cybersecurity, and counseling. It has 2,613 students from 41 different states and 50 countries in its undergraduate and graduate programs. Students and faculty ratio at the university is 13:1. The school boasts about classes that have fewer than 20 students.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

JBU’s Lunabotics team has been a part of the NASA Lunabotics mining competition since it started. In 2015, it won the Judges Innovation Award. JBU is a member of the NAIA Division I and offers the following intercollegiate sports: Men and Women’s soccer; Men and Women’s Basketball; Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Tennis. The JBU varsity men's golf team was formed in 1966 and played until 1973. The men's varsity golf team started playing again in the fall of 2008 and remained intact until 2016.

Although a small university, JBU has been the alma mater of well-known people like American Politician Rodney Anderson,  folk music songwriter, and musician Jimmy Driftwood and Jackson Waters - the Rock band, featuring Nate Hufford on bass, David Leonard on vocals, keyboard/piano, Seth Talley on drums, and Toby Friesen on electric guitar
