History, Affiliations & Rankings 

Grand Valley State University (GVSU) was founded in 1960 in Allendale after the need for a public university was realised in one of the largest metropolitan regions in Michigan. GVSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The U.S. News & World Report recognises Grand Valley State University as the top public regional university and the most innovative higher education institution in the midwest by the U.S. News & World Report. It is named as the Top Midwest University recognized for business and engineering programs by the U.S. News & World Report.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses  

The main campus of GVSU is situated in Allendale, Michigan on 1,322 acres of land. Other campuses of the university include Robert C. Pew Campus in the heart of Grand Rapids that houses various buildings to offer business, education, engineering courses. The Graduate School is situated in Robert C. Pew Campus. The Health Campus to the east end of Grand Rapids comprises two buildings. The other campuses include Meijer Campus,  Detroit Center, Muskegon Regional Centre, Traverse City Regional Centre and Battle Creek Regional Outreach Centre. GVSU offers a total of 146 courses in various subjects like Arts, Science, Business Management, Health, Computer Science, Data Science, Sociology, Sports Management etc.  

Accomplishments & Alumni 

Grand Valley State University has also been named as the Most Environmentally Responsible Colleges for 11 years by The Princeton Review. It is also ranked ‘Best Bang for the Buck' by the national college guide.GVSU recognises its Alumni and grants them awards for their outstanding contribution to society and the university. Its Alumni community comprises more than 1,30,000 people who can be found around the world involved in different professions and services. GVSU Alumni Relations office provides lifelong opportunities to stay connected with the university. It engages Alumni with student support activities as well as social and professional development events.  

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies 
 
Students strength at Grand Valley State University is more than 22,000 among around 19,200 are undergraduate students. These students represent more than 67 countries forming a rich cultural diversity at the university. Class sizes at the university are kept small with an average of  26 students in each batch to give maximum attention to each and every student in the class. The success rate of graduates of  Grand Valley State University is quite high. Around 90% of its graduates are either employed or get into an advanced degree soon after the completion of their studies.
