The College of Sheffield was founded in 1897 by merging three institutions namely the Sheffield Medical School, the Firth College and the Sheffield Technical School, which finally became the University of Sheffield in 1905. The university campus is situated in the city of Sheffield, United Kingdom. It is one of the renowned universities of the world, which has been known for its excellent research and teaching, global reputation, international outlook and impactful student experience. The university has been ranked among the top 100 universities in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, meanwhile, the Research Excellence Framework 2014 also named it among the top 10% of all UK universities.

The University of Sheffield has around 30,000 students enrolled for admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the university. All in all, it has 55 academic departments offering various courses to both domestic and international students. The university, not a campus, has almost all of its 430 buildings located in close proximity, which is geographically divided by the Sheffield Inner Ring Road. COVID-19 Response

In the latest update from the UK Government, universities have been allowed to call students to its campus. Therefore, all University of Sheffield, with all the necessary COVID-19 precautionary measures, students are allowed to return to campus.
Students who will not be able to return on campus due to travel restrictions can take the online classes on a temporary basis until he/she is able to return to campus.
Every student must book two COVID-19 tests at the universitys Covid-19 Testing Centre upon arrival at Sheffield. Subsequently, students are expected to take two tests per week if they are regularly visiting the campus.
Those travelling from other countries shall have to follow travel guidelines as defined by the UK government before arrival in the UK.
The on-campus accommodation facilities are available for students. All those availing this facility shall have to follow the safety guidelines as defined by the authorities.
International students who would like to return to Sheffield may self-isolate for free within university accommodation for three weeks.

The University of Sheffield offers 50 merit-based scholarships for international students. The scholarship covers 50% of total tuition fees of each year for undergraduate studies. Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2021 is as follows:
Candidates must join a programme at the university that is scheduled to commence in Autumn 2021.
Candidates must join full- time studies in the first year of undergraduate studies.
Candidates must have joined undergraduate studies except for Medicine and Dentistry.
Applicants must have outstanding academic performance.
Applicants must submit the scholarship form before the deadline date to be considered for the scholarship.
The scholarship is offered to 5 international students who hold an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Candidates who receive an offer for full- time, part- time or foundation degree programme at the University of Sheffield are considered for the scholarship.
Under this scholarship, undergraduate students will be able to receive £2,000 per year for courses in the faculties of Arts and Humanities; and Social Sciences and £2,500 per year for courses in the faculties of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health; and Science.

The eligibility criteria for International Undergraduate Scholarship 2021 is as follows:
You must commence your undergraduate studies (except for courses in Medicine and Dentistry) at the university in September 2021.
You must achieve at least 120 credits in the previous academic year along with 60% or above.
You must enter a programme in year 1.
Applicants must submit the scholarship form before the deadline date to be considered for the scholarship.
The University of Sheffield offers 125 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships. The scholarship covers 25% of the tuition fees for postgraduate studies at the university.

Candidates must have strong academic credentials to be considered for the scholarship.
