King’s College London (KCL) was established in 1829. It is a public research university located in London with a motto “with holiness and wisdom”. The university was founded by King George IV and is also one of the oldest universities in the U.K. The university is a founding member of Russell Group and has affiliations from bodies like ACU, EUA, Golden Triangle, iCUBE, LSGL, MedCity, RADA, SES, and Universities UK.

According to THE ranking 2020, it is ranked 7th in the U.K. The QS ranking 2020, places it the 33rd position in the world, with TEF Gold.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

It has a total of five campuses including the founding campus of Strand Campus, Guy’s Campus, Waterloo Campus, St Thomas Campus, and Denmark Hill Campus. The College has five departments including Theological, General Literature, and Science, Applied Sciences, Medical, and Military.    

KCL maintains several sports clubs, societies, shops, eateries, fitness centers, apart from beautiful classrooms, modern equipment equipped laboratories, and libraries. The most sought after courses at the college are Economics, English, Law, Literature, Psychology, Biological Sciences, Immunology, Genetics, and Business.

Accomplishments & Alumni

King’s and NVIDIA have announced a partnership to build an artificial intelligence (AI) platform that will allow NHS specialists to train computers to automate radiology workflows. Researchers and engineers from King’s and NVIDIA will work together with clinicians on-site at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, and South London and Maudsley. The combination of research, technology, and clinicians will streamline the discovery of critical data strategies, targeted AI problems, and fast-track deployment in clinics.
KCL has produced 12 Nobel laureates, Oscars and Grammy awards recipients. King’s also has distinct royal patronage by virtue of its foundation, which is Queen Elizabeth II. Some famous alumni of the university are Nobel Laureate in physics Peter Higgs, pioneer of IVF Patrick Steptoe, poet John Keats, the lady with the lamp Florence Nightingale.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies 

Roughly 26,000 students have preferred to be enrolled at the institution in the 2019-20 session. As many as 44% of the students are international students from various corners of the world. There are 12.5  students per faculty making the academic scene very conducive to learning. The university is quite diverse and celebrates all festivals within the campus. The gender ratio is also positive with 62% of the students being women and 38% men. KCL is one of the most reputed institutions in the world. Hence, a graduate from the university is hired by top companies. 

Merrill Lynch, Osmosys, Deloitte, Bank of America, Accenture, Oracle are some famous visiting companies in the University.
