Ogarev Mordovia State University is a Federal state budgetary academic institution of higher education, established in 1931. Which initially started as the Agronomy Pedagogical Institute gradually expanded and attained the status of a University in 1957. The university began developing its partnerships with higher education institutions around the globe in 1987. Today, the university has expanded its international connections and supports a number of academic exchange programmes. This public university is recognised by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and accredited by NMC (National Medical Commission) and WHO (World Health Organisation). The continuous high-yielding nature of the university in the sector of higher education and scientific research has led it to become one of the top 30 universities in the country.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Ogarev Mordovia State University offers a whole spectrum of academic programmes for postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate students with a core speciality in fundamental and applied research. Students can choose from over 133 available tracks of UG and PG programmes. These programmes are taught using methods that focus on direct contact with students through lectures, practical classes and workshops. Talking about its infrastructure, Ogarev Mordovia State University has 28 academic buildings. The institute provides accommodation facilities to its international and non-native students through 13 hostels. Eleven of these hostels or halls of residence are located on campus. The other two are on remote campuses in Kovylkono and Ruzayevka. The hostels currently have a capacity of over 4,500 students.

Being a National Research University as it is, Ogarev Mordovia State University is currently one of the largest science centres in Russia, with research being conducted in about 28 fields of Science. Due to its excellence in scientific research, many of its pupils have won Russian Presidents Grants for Young Russian Scholars. The universitys technological achievements have been recognised by 13 medals and 73 diplomas. According to the institute, Ogarev Mordovia State University has highly achieving graduates on its alumni list. The university has over 500 former graduates working in different nations of the world including Australia, India, Spain, Canada, Korea, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Yemen, Pakistan, the USA, China, Lithuania, Latvia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Egypt and the list keeps going on.
