The journey of Trinity Western University began as a committee for the studies of Northern Libreal Arts in the year of 1957. Shortly after in 1962 Trinity Junior College was set up and a few years later the name was changed to Trinity Western College. It was only in 1980 that the institution got converted into a university and started granting degrees. The university is ranked among the top 100 universities of Canada and fourth largest university of British Columbia. In the present day the university has active affiliations with AUCC, ATS, CUP, CHEC, CCCU, RSC and BCEQA. Trinity Western is also a member of the Royal Society of Canada and is counted among the most prestigious and elite universities of Canada.
Infrastructure, Campus and Courses
True to the committee which led to its establishment, the university is devoted to the streams and majors of Arts and Humanities and offers the same to the students by way of 1200+ undergraduate courses, 11 graduate programs, 7 ACTS Seminaries Masters, a doctorate in Juris Law, certifications, etc. The campus houses 8 schools and colleges for the undergraduate degrees, athletic facilities, residential buildings and library and other co-curricular support infrastructure. The institution also hosts two satellite campuses. The resident colleges of the institute include Catholic Pacific College. TWU also offers international programs in collaboration with CCCU.
Accomplishments and Alumni
The institution has its roots engaged with the Catholic Covenant community and therefore the practices are therefore automatically involved in the lifestyle and manner of the university. The institution is known to practice the moral and ethical values of peace and love and help in its preachings. Moreover the institution hosts research programs for Dead Sea Scrolls Institute, Gender Studies Institute, Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership and many others. The notable alumni of the institution include names such as Carolyn Arends, Deborah Grey, Grant McNally, Chaim Schalk, Tara Teng and Ryan Walter.
Student Diversity and Visiting Companies
The university maintains close relationships with the community and is involved regularly in research programs related to Theological, Religion, Gender and Cultural Studies. At various instances it has been proven by the university how prized they consider diversity and cross-cultural communal harmony. The research programs are not the only steps, there are also activities and festivals hosted within the campus to make the international students population feel belonged and welcome. Some of the international programs of the institute are African Studies in Uganda, Indian studies in Tamil Nadu and film making and film studies in Los Angeles. The institution devotes its guidance to students' careers by helping them understand the path which must be taken further and how to take it.
