Ural State Medical University is a major Science & Education University in Russia which was established in the year 1930 as the Sverdlovsk Medical Institute. In 1995, the institute was renamed the Ural State Medical Academy (UGMA), which was granted university status and renamed to the Ural State Medical University (UGMU) in 2013. Known as a recognised centre of medical science, it is one of the top MBBS universities in Russia. As per the RAEX, the University has ranked 85th among the top 100 Universities in the Reputation rankings of Russian Universities in 2019. In addition, the Russian University Relevance Ranking 2019 ranked the university 26th. The University is also known for its top-3 Dentistry faculties in Russia.
