Sault College was founded in 1965 as the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Vocational Centre (OVC). OVC evolved to form community colleges in Ontario and was later recognised as Sault College of the Cambrian College of Applied Arts & Technology located in Sudbury. Meanwhile, a second satellite campus was opened in North Bay which, later on, became an independent college and was named Canadore College with its main campus becoming Sault College of Applied Arts & Technology in 1973, popularly known as Sault College. The Sault College is a public-funded college located at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is one of the most beautiful places to live in Canada. The college warmly welcomes students from around the world to be a part of a community that works together for the betterment of individuals and society.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The campus of Sault College offers several facilities and services that result in a quality student experience on campus. Students will be able to access the residence facilities which are available on campus at the Ray Lawson Hall along with mess services. Some of the other facilities at Sault College include fitness centres, library, book store, an Adventure centre and various Student Services to help students excel at all levels. Over the years, Sault College has grown proactively and presently offers a wide range of part-time and full-time courses in various disciplines like Engineering & Technology, Arts & Science, Media & Design, Health Program, Law etc. Students can choose from a variety of Bachelors and Masters programmes along with certificate and diploma programmes at Sault College.

Sault College aims to provide quality education and the best educational experience to students. Since its inception, Sault College’s efforts and dedication in satisfying its students with respect to the standard of teaching and services provided to them have been recognised worldwide. Sault College has been mentioned among the top list of universities offering the best student satisfaction in Ontario based on a key performance indicator (KPI) survey for student satisfaction. Sault College has an alumni community of over 35,000 graduates who maintain a strong relationship with the college. The college has a separate Alumni Relations department that works closely with the students to maintain a strong relationship as well. It encourages students and faculty to stay connected with the college and avail services available for them. The alumni can also participate in volunteering services, associations, events and reunions while also providing support to current students at Sault College.

Sault College is a globally recognised postsecondary educational institution in Ontario. Every year, more than 4,500 students from around the world get enrolled in part-time and full-time studies at Sault College. Sault College students are able to participate in work placement programmes, which provide students with an opportunity to learn the necessary practical skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career. Students also learn about the scope and occupations available to them based on their qualifications.
