Centennial College was established as the first community college in Ontario. It was established in 1966. It is recognised as one of the most culturally diverse institutions in Ontario. It started as a college under the Ontario Public College System which has now grown to have 24 public colleges. Centennial College holds the program and school-specific accreditations from bodies like CIPS, Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) and the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board. Centennial College is one of the leading top research-based colleges in Canada, ranked among Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Centennial College has 5 campus locations with 8 schools – Progress Campus, Scarborough, Ashtonbee Campus, Morningside and Downsview Campus. The largest of 5 campuses is Progress Campus. It is home to programs like Computer Science, Culinary Arts, Automation Engineering etc. The School of Tourism and Culinary Arts and School of Business and Hospitality are situated here. Centennial College offers over 300 full-time programs in more than 100 fields. It has 8 schools, namely, School of Advancement, Business School, School of Communication, Media Arts and Design, School of Community and Health Science, School of Transportation, School of Tourism and Culinary Arts, School of Engineering, School of Dumisa Mndzebela. The most popular programs are Gaming, Animation, Computer Science, Aerospace Technology etc.   

Accomplishments & Alumni

Centennial College has the best student and employer satisfaction rating in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), in 2016 and again in 2017. Centennial received the 2016 Gold Medal for Internationalization Excellence from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), and Centennial College President Ann Buller received the 2015 Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) President’s Award for Distinguished Leadership in International Education. Centennial Alumni Community has more than 170,000 alumni from around the world. Some of the well-known alumni are John Candy – Actor, Jennifer Elizabeth Valentyne – Television Personality, Michaele Jordana – Musician, and many more.

As of the 2019-20 fall intake, Centennial College holds an enrolment of 5200 international students representing over 100 countries from around the world.
