MacEwan University was founded in 1971 to provide a transformative education to local and international students in a supportive and collaborative environment. It is a public university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For more than 40 years of establishment, MacEwan University has consistently maintained its global reputation and is focused and committed to providing quality education. MacEwan has been awarded A+ grades for its innovative teaching method and size of classes and A grades for the quality of our teaching and student-faculty interaction as per the 2014 Globe Mails Canadian University reports of the university.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The MacEwan University campus is named as the City Centre Campus and is located at the heart of the city. The MacEwan Campus buildings are connected on the second floor through a pedway system, ensuring easy access to all the facilities and infrastructure installed to achieve the Grade A quality of education. MacEwan University offers more than 65-degree programmes that meet international standards. Among the sea of options, students can choose between 10 bachelor programmes, 32 bachelor degrees (majors), 2 transfer degree programs, 1 applied degree and 40 diploma and certificate programmes. Creativity and innovation are a part of the academic programme offerings and research work at MacEwan University. Students, faculty and staff are actively engaged in sharing knowledge and exchanging culture and ideas.

Over the years of its existence, MacEwan University has been recognised for multitudes of reasons, among which its research and academics have been highlighted proudly. MacEwan Universitys research work is carried out to meet the local and global needs and provide creative and innovative solutions for a variety of problems. The MacEwan community acknowledges and awards researchers annually, promoting further impactful research topics. Awarding the eligible candidate, excellent work is nominated and then conferred distinguished research awards at events conducted by MacEwan University on a yearly basis. The alumni at MacEwan University are among some of the successful leaders of the world, where they stay connected with the University community and also benefit from various services available for them. The alumni are also encouraged to attend events and meetings that connect them with the current students and classmates as well. The MacEwan alumni network has been created to meet the three main principles, i.e. connect, learn and grow.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

Every year, more than 18,000 students get enrolled at MacEwan University in its full-time and part-time courses. International students also choose to get enrolled at MacEwans degree programmes provided they meet the admission requirements. As per a survey conducted by the university, 38% of the students were male while 61.8% of the students were female with an average age of 24. MacEwan University also offers a number of scholarship opportunities along with other student support services to students to help ease the financial burden and other challenges of studying at a university abroad. The academic programmes offered by MacEwan University have been designed to provide students hands-on experiences that help them with employment after graduation. Students in the third year of their studies can join a field placement course, learn real work skills, create a portfolio of work and create a network of contacts.
