Starting its journey as the University of Louisiana, Tulane University earned its name in 1884 after a wealthy merchant Paul Tulane donated over $1 million in cash, land and securities. With over 180 years of experience under its belt, Tulane has become a prestigious member of the Association of American Universities, a select group of 62 leading research universities in the US and Canada. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Tulane University can award degrees at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Home to different schools and disciplines of study, Tulane University is spread of 100 acres of scenic beauty encircled by infrastructure and facilities that have aided research and studies for decades. With 89 buildings scattered throughout Tulane’s campus, students will be able to carry out different academic activities in different fields of study. Speaking of, Tulane University offers 70 majors under five different schools, i.e. Architecture, Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Science. Tulane University also offers courses in Law, Medicine and Social which are graduate-only programmes. The University also offers students the option to pursue a one-credit course which is aimed as a career development course, designed to teach resume-building skills, interview skills and maintain a professional social media. Additionally, Tulane’s campus is also home to over 200 student organisations which include fraternities and sororities, as well as different intramural and collegiate sports activities for students to participate and spend their free time in.
