Medicine Hat College is a public, comprehensive college that serves southeastern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. It was founded in 1965. It is affiliated to the Association of Canadian Community Colleges. It is ranked #8663 in the World and in the continent, it is ranked #2290.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The Medicine Hat College is located in the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta. The College has two campuses - the main campus and the Brooks Campus located in Brooks (100kms West of Medicine Hat). The students at Brooks’s campus get enrolled in different courses like English as Second Language for New Canadians training, Adult Basic Education (ABE), and Practical Nurse Diploma Program. Other courses offered at the Brooks campus are College Preparation, Health Care Aide, Computerized Bookkeeping Certificate, Social Work, and Management Skills for Supervisors and Pre-Employment Welding. Students also undertake a bachelor's degree in education, business and nursing. The college has collaborated with Mount Royal University and the University of Calgary. Applied degrees in Visual Communications and Paramedics are also offered by the college. The College also offers some unique diploma programs like Addictions Counseling, which is a unique program.
Accomplishments & Alumni
EDC (Entrepreneur Development Centre) is a body of the college which helps the students in starting their own businesses. Sports offered at the College are golf, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. The athletic teams from the college compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. Notable alumni are Tara Chisholm, Ronnie Burkett, Megan Nagy and Glen Motz.

Students coming to college are from countries India (26.3%), Philippines (9.5%), China (5.2%), Japan (5.2%), Somalia (3.1%), Sudan (2.9%), Ethiopia (2.9%), and the United States (2.1%), among others. Hence, the college is quite diverse and welcoming towards international students. The gender distribution is 52% female and 48% male students. Companies visiting for recruitment are Fondation Louis van der Warden, Nirvana 101, Great Plains College and many more.
