University of Bridgeport was established in 1927, as a private university in Connecticut, USA. The university’s foundation was laid by E. Everett Cortright, Alfred Fones, and Summer Simpson. It was the first junior college in Connecticut which got itself renamed as University of Bridgeport only in 1967.
