Rush University was invented by Daniel Brainard in 1837 in Chicago, Illinois and the name of the university was Rush Medical College at that time. This private college had around 22 students with a 16 week course. It was managed by a team of Physicians who helped in finding the Rush university. After the various changes made in the name of the university. Recently, in the year 2003, the final name decided was Rush University Medical Center. The university stood at 70th position in Best Medical Schools by the US News 2020 edition. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. 

Infrastructure, Campus, & Courses

The university provides the latest technology and equipment and a 10 story out-patient centre. There is a new building constructed for neuroscience and cancer patients, which will be finished by 2022. This building will have 90 individual cancer infusion rooms, 82 treatment rooms of cancer, 18 neurosurgery exam rooms, on-site radiation oncology with MRI, and many more.

The Rush university consists of Rush University College of Health Sciences, Rush University College of Nursing, Rush Medical College, and The Graduate College of Rush University.

One can find the course as per his/her interest or degree type. There are Master’s courses such as Master of Science and Master of Science in Nursing, Bachelor’s programmes such as Bachelor of Science, Certificate courses, Doctor of Audiology, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Philosophy, and so on.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The university has received the HEED award for excellence in Diversity. There are multiple upcoming events in the university starting with the bootcamp of Mid-career Faculty Development, Cardiac Care for the Cancer patient and Survivor, Bootcamp for the Emergency Medical Clinicians, and another bootcamp on teaching excellence. As far the achievement of the Rush university is concerned, the number 1 award of having a graduate programme in the country was recently given in January 2020. The university also received five stars for the quality it serves from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid services.

The famous alumni are Leonard Weather who was appointed to Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners in 1970, W. Ian Lipkin awarded by the Chinese government for devoting her life to public health, in 1980 Randy J. Epstein was awarded as the top doctor of The National Keratoconus Foundation, and many more names.
