Entrance Exams For MBBS Admissions in the Philippines

Indian students who wish to pursue an MD (MBBS) course in the Philippines must note that a mandatory pass in Class 12 with 50% - 60% marks are essential to be considered for admission. Starting from the year 2018, qualifying NEET is mandatory for admission to any medical courses in foreign countries like the Philippines. Students with the above-mentioned qualification must note that they will initially have to get admission to a pre-medical course.

About the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT)

  • After completing the pre-medical course, qualifying NMAT is the next mandatory step towards getting admission in an MD course. NMAT consists of two parts, i.e. Part I and Part II. The details are elaborated here:

  • Part I of the NMAT exam covers the Quantitative, Reasoning and Verbal Sections

  • Part II of the NMAT exam covers the Chemistry, Biology and Physics Sections

The students attempting the test must note that there is no ranking system in the case of NMAT. Qualifying NMAT is enough to secure admission to the medical colleges in the Philippines. Over the years, Indian students have been successful in clearing NMAT and getting admission in the MD course in the Philippines. Therefore, there is no need to panic and be nervous about the entrance test.
