Foundation of University of California, Merced is dated back to 1988 when the need for an additional UC campus came into the picture. University of California, Merced is one of the campuses of the University of California (UC) which is located in the Merced city of California. It is the newest campus of the University of California, which finally opened in 2005. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Presently, UC Merced has a total strength of 8,847 students among which 8151 students are enrolled in undergraduate studies. The undergraduate studies at UC Merced are offered under three major schools namely Engineering, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities and Arts. Graduate programmes cover areas of studies like literature, political science, biology to big data and artificial intelligence. Graduate courses are offered under 18 graduate groups that provide enough space for students to choose an area of study and research.
