Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Situated in New Britain (Connecticut), CSSU has a modest 314-acre campus housing the School of Business, the School of Engineering, Science, & Technology, the School of Graduate Studies, the School of Education & Professional Studies — and the Carol A. Ammon College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. With General Services like nonremedial tutoring, women's center, placement service, health service & health insurance; the university also provides Counseling services, Campus safety and security services. The University offers 10 residence halls, housing 23 percent of students. CSSU has a strong academic emphasis and offers various courses in the fields of Arts/fine arts, Humanities, Computer literacy, Mathematics, English, Philosophy, Foreign languages, Sciences, History & Social science. The most popular Majors at CSSU are Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, Social Sciences, Psychology, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs.
Accomplishments & Alumni
Designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a Community Engagement University. CSSU has more than 65,000 active alumni with rich diverse backgrounds and careers such as distinguished novelists, path-breaking inventors, award-winning teachers, successful industrialists, medical doctors and corporate leaders. Notable alumni include Frances P. Mainella, Director of the National Park Service of the United States, American Politician and businessman John Barry Larson to name a few.
