- In a bid to relax border restrictions for international travellers, Canada has announced the removal of mandatory negative COVID-19 report or testing on arrival as part of the entry process. This change will be implemented starting April 1, 2022.
- Conditions to this relaxations require international travellers to be fully-vaccinated.
- Random tests can be performed on fully-vaccinated travellers to keep track on new variants. However, these fully-vaccinated travellers are not required to quarantine until their reports are published.
- Quarantine and testing protocols remain in place for unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated travellers.

Similar to the US, theUK, New Zealand and other countries, Canada has also announced a series of requirements to be fulfilled by Indian travellers including students. For India, the accepted vaccines in Canada include Covaxin, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Covishield, or a single dose of Janssen.
Before boarding the flight, all international students should also prove a negative Covid-19 molecular test conducted at the Delhi airports Genestrings Laboratory. The same shall be taken within 18 hours or 72 hours before boarding a direct flight and a connecting flight respectively, to Canada.
It is to be noted that Canada would not accept rapid antigen test reports as proof.

Those who are not fully vaccinated would still be allowed entry into Canada although they would still have to meet certain other conditions. These conditions would include finding out if the university is a designated learning institution (DLI) with a Covid-19 readiness plan and if it is, the student will have to bring their valid student permit and acceptance letter from the concerned university.
For medical students admitted to aCanadian university, they would also have to take a medical exam.
From New Delhi to Toronto, the fastest non-stop flight takes around 14 hours and 45 minutes. On the flight, all passengers will have to complete a Declaration Card and if they are fully vaccinated, they might be exempt from testing on arrival unless randomly selected.
However, a mandatory self-swab kit will be given to the passengers when they arrive in Canada.

Also, all fully-vaccinated Indian students will be exempt from the 14-day quarantine in Canada. Those who do not qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler, they must use ArriveCAN to confirm that they have arrived at the address they provided for quarantine and complete daily Covid-19 symptom assessments until completing their quarantine period.
Foreign nationals with symptoms of Covid-19 will not be permitted to enter Canada.
