Earlier in mid-April, a bipartisan congressional delegation of US lawmakers landed in Hyderabad to visit the Tata-Boeing and Lockheed Martin facilities, emphasising the significance of Telangana in the aerospace and defence industry.

The legislators also had a meeting with leaders of top US firms and visited the USD 300 million new consulate compound in Nanakaramguda.

Meanwhile, the minister-counsellor for consular affairs at the US embassy in Delhi, Donald L Heflin had announced that the best time for Indian candidates to get their visa approved is the first interview this year.

However, he added that this can only be done by blocking students who refused a US visa for the first time.

Heflin made this announcement in a 30-minute Facebook live video, where he was heard saying that applicants with F-1 student visas from India have a good chance to get their visa approved this year, in the first interview. While the chances of getting refused on a second or third interview are high.
