Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) scholarship deadlines for the 2023-24 academic term have been announced for international students.

MIT offers financial aid, to both domestic and international students, in the form of a need-based scholarship programme. The financial support provided by the university is not required to be repaid by the beneficiary students.

Apart from MIT Scholarships, there are other scholarship programmes as well which can be applied for by international students, however, they are not sponsored by the institute.

About MIT Scholarships for International Students 2023

MIT scholarships are awarded by Massachusetts Institute of Technology on need-basis. The scholarship fund is sourced from donations from alumni, friends, and general funds.

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria to become a beneficiary of MIT scholarships 2023-24 are:

  • Enrolled in a bachelors course at MIT.

  • Showcase a need for financial assistance.

Expenses Covered: The expenses covered by the MIT scholarships include:

  • Tuition fees

  • Additional educational expenses

  • Living expenses, including rent, basic necessities, and travel

How to Apply: International students need to follow the steps below to apply for MIT scholarships:

  • Step 1: Create a CSS profile.

  • Step 2: Upload required documents.

  • Step 3: Select MIT as designated institution.

  • Step 4: Upload Parental Tax returns or Income Documentation.

  • Step 5: Await the decision on application.

First Year Grant at MIT for International Students

First Year Grant is a special award sanctioned by MIT for full-time students enrolled in the first year.

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for First Year Grant 2023-24 are:

  • Enrolled in a bachelors course at MIT.

  • A full-time first-year student of an MIT-offered bachelors course

  • Belongs to a low-income background.

Expenses Covered: An award of USD 2,000 is credited to the student in two equal installments for Spring and Fall intakes. The grant is provided to support the transition into a college student.

How to Apply: The application process of First Year Grant Award is exactly the same as MIT Scholarships:

  • Step 2:Upload required documents.

  • Step 3:Select MIT as designated institution.
