In the past few days, several higher education institutions have risen up to the challenge of assisting Ukrainian and international students studying in Ukraine in different ways. Today, Hungarian universities have offered to help out students continue their studies in Hungarian universities.
Head of the Centre for Geopolitics in Hungary, Dr Attilo Demko stated that the country will allow foreign students who fled the war-inflicted Ukraine, which include Indians, Nigerians and students from other African countries, to continue their studies across different Hungarian Universities.
In one of his tweets, Dr Demko further added that “all third-country refugees, which comprised mostly of Africans, had been accepted without issues. Additionally, those who wished to be repatriated had their wishes fulfilled.

As per statements from a Nigerian government agency, around 4,00 Nigerian citizens who had fled the war, were able to return home through chartered flights over the weekend. A CNN report revealed that a returning national received $100 from foreign ministry officials in Abuja, Nigeria.
On the other hand, India has been successful in bringing back more than 17,000 Indians from the war-hit Ukraine, through Operation Ganga, reported ANI News. Moreover, as per official sources, around 22,000 Indian citizens were able to leave Ukraine since January, when the first advisory had been released.

Over the weekend, State Minister for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan stated that more than 16,000 Indians out of the 20,000 that had been reported to be in Ukraine, had been evacuated. However, some 3,000 Indians are still scattered across the neighbouring countries.
