The Temporary Foreign Worker Programme (TFWP) application process for work permits may be updated by Canada.
In their proposal, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) stated that it intended to decrease inventories, enhance customer service, and quicken the process of reducing workforce shortages in Canada.
According to a report from CICNews, the policy, first proposed in December of last year, would apply to foreign workers who currently have Canadian work permits and are requesting another visa to continue working for the same company in the same occupation.

Whether they are applying from within Canada or abroad, candidates who are returning to the same employer and vocation must follow the revised procedure.
The new procedure, according to the article, would entail daily application pulls into particular folders by the Global Case Management System (GMCS).
To be eligible, the foreign workers fulfil the following criteria:
-
Received a work permit related to their employer once in the last five years with no anomalies from their prior application.
-
For a new employer-specific work permit, the applicant must submit a full work permit application.
-
Must resume their previous position and use their previous National Occupation Classification (NOC) code.
-
Biometrics must be provided, either before or with the new application
-
Throughout the screening process, must satisfy all further eligibility requirements.
When Canadian firms are unable to fill open positions with competent candidates or cannot find sufficient qualified candidates, the temporary foreign worker programme in Canada assists them in doing so.
Workers who enter Canada under the TFWP have closed work permits, which limit their ability to work for more than one employer.

The applications are processed at the moment in the following way:
-
An officer assesses each person applying for a work permit individually before being accepted.
-
This includes examining the applicant's background, training, language skills, and any necessary licences.
-
The officer also determines whether the offer of work is legitimate by looking into the employer's ability to pay employees' wages, maintain an operating business, and adhere to applicable federal and provincial employment rules.
These are a few of the steps taken by Canada to process permits for temporary workers.
