The Climate Change Institute at the University of Edinburgh has introduced its inaugural open access course in Hindi, developed in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Edinburgh, Scotland.
This course, titled "Climate Solutions," is available in English, Arabic, and Hindi, with specific versions tailored for Egypt, the UAE, India, and the UK.
Renowned climate change experts, including Professor Dave Reay, the Executive Director of the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute (ECCI), have designed and delivered the course. Professor Reay expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, highlighting the university's strong partnership with the India Consulate in creating this significant open access course.

He also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the online course development team in Edinburgh and the translation work carried out by colleagues at the India Consulate.
The Climate Solutions: India (Hindi) course, launched recently, delves into the science, impacts, and solutions of climate change in the country. It serves as a valuable resource for Hindi-speaking students and educators in India and around the world.
The university emphasized that the joint efforts between the Indian government and the university played a vital role in the development of this Hindi course. Expert translators meticulously curated the content, and the university expressed gratitude to the Consulate General of India in Edinburgh for their support. Professor Pankaj Pankaj, the International Dean for South Asia at the University of Edinburgh, commended the launch of the Hindi course, hailing it as a remarkable example of collaboration between the Indian government and the university in addressing climate change.

The Department of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at the University of Edinburgh supports the creation of these free online climate courses, in partnership with the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. Additionally, the university disclosed plans to develop new versions of the Climate Solutions course tailored for Senegal, Malawi, Ecuador, and Mexico in the near future.
